House, formerly inn, late C16 and early C17. Brick, pantiles and plain tiles. L shaped with stair turret. 2 storeys. Range to north: 3 bays, 2 storeys, galletted carstone with brick dressings, brick platband; pantiles; Dutch gable to west to road, gable parapet to east with end internal stack; inserted C19 stack behind facade of third bay; fleur de lys finials to tie irons. Ground floor with large openings to left and right under segmental arches, that to left with renewed 4-light casement with glazing bars, that to right part blocked by C19 stack and with inserted sash with glazing bars; centre bay with doorway to left under segmental head, boarded door, inserted casement with glazing bars to right. First floor with 3-light casement with glazing bars to bay 1, double casement with glazing bars to centre bay, blocked opening to third bay with C19 stack to rear.
West facade to road: Dutch gable, platband; hipped roof to right; ground floor with C19 canted bay with flat roof and sashes; blocked opening to left; first floor with central flush sash, blocked openings to left and right; attic with two blocked openings. West range to road: 4 bays (2 cells), 2 storeys, hipped tiled roof, central axial stack; ground floor with doorway to left having coped canopy with shaped wooden brackets, tripartite sash and 3 sashes with glazing bars to right; first floor with 4 sashes. Rear: north range with plain tiles; stair turret gabled to south, within angle of north and west ranges.
Interior: 3-tier butt purlin roof with collars but no ridge piece to north range; roof of west range renewed. Rear wall of north range now to west range with doorway, c.1600, with heavy jewel stopped frame; similar doorway to rear of west range to stair turret. Ground floor: nicked ogee stopped beams to third bay of north range; west range with large stack, fire places to each cell, dropped rear arches to late windows, ogee stopped beam to first cell. Newel stair with winders, boarded panelling below handrail. First floor: between north range and stair turret a 2-light opening with ovolo moulded frame, doorway with heavy moulded frame and jewel stops; similar doorframe but with reeded mouldings to west range from stair turret. Third bay of north range with close ceiling joists, rear arch to one blocked opening.
