Bakehouse Cottage

House. Late C16.
Timber framed with wattle and daub infill and thatched roof. Front altered, probably late C17, when additional bay to west added. 2 storeys on brick plinth. Central door with C18 casements right and left. 2 C18 casements to first floor. Overhanging eaves to gabled roof. Eastern internal ridge stack and subsidiary stack right of centre. Mid C20 brick lean-to extension at rear. 2 renewed casements under eaves.
Interior of dining room in very heavy scantling and close studding. Original exterior west wall framing now free-standing. Plain chamfered bridging beam. Renewed fireplace. Roof of tie beams, collars and clasped purlins. Window in original west gable now blocked. Some windbracing.
