Farmhouse. Early C15 and early C17.
Timber framed with roughcast wattle and daub and thatched roof. House in 2 builds, that to left earlier of 2 storeys and attic, later extension without dormers. Door at junction of works. 3 late C18 casements to right, one left and additional 3-light timber ovolo mullioned window. One 4-light C15 timber mullioned window with chamfers to first floor and scattered early C19 or C20 casements. Gabled roof with 2 eyebrow dormers with C20 casements. Pantiled and gabled late C18 extension to left. Ridge stack inserted when interior of open hall floored and C17 extension added. Rear with scattered fenestration and one 2-light C17 timber ovolo moulded mullion window to first floor left.
Interior. Remains of screen to right of entrance door; to left hall now floored with chamfered bridging beam and joists. Open fireplace C17 with bressummer. Principal wall stud suggests south end of original building was jettied. Winder staircase by stack and similar in original service range. First floor close studded of heavy scantling. Heavy wall plate. Arched bracing at corners of south room. C15 range roof of tie beams on large arched braces, stome now removed. One king post survives, octagonal with moulded base and castellated collar and astragal mouldings. Diagonal wind bracing and through purlins.
