The novelist George Eliot (Mary Ann Evans) lived here, March 1841 to May 1849. Stucco, Welsh slated roof. Two storeys, sash windows, canted bay to road, main elevation to side with projecting wing containing recessed porch, arched with radiating glazing bars to fanlight over door. Lower wing to east side elevation. Some glazing bars to windows.
