Early C17 and said to be of 1604. Originally of red briok with stone dressings but
now mostly cement rendered. Three storeys; 2 gabled buys. Ground floor with
asymetrically placed door with 4-centred arched head and 2 recessed sash windows.
First floor with 2 more recessed sash windows. Broad band at second floor level.
A blank window in each of the gables between which is a plaque with the name 'Lifford
Hall'. Right-hand return with a single blocked tripartite mullioned window on first
and second floors. Left-hand return of 2 gabled bays with 3 recessed sash windows
on each of the ground and first floors, a broad band at second floor level and a
recessed sash window in each of the gables at second floor level. Then a large,
probably early C19, battlemented bay window with mullions and transom and, beyond
that, an C18 wing with a single mullioned window and a dormer window intersected by
the eaves. Brick dentilled frieze. Then a length of C18 painted brick embattled wall
enclosing the courtyard behind the house.
