Circa 1780 block of 2 or perhaps 3 town houses on north side of square with
return to Caroline Street, altered as one property early C20. The likely
division appears to have been a 5 bay house by the corner with a 3 bay front
adjoining. The elevations are now completely stuccoed. the cornice stopped
to a band with parapet coping. Sill course to ground floor windows which
are set in plain stucco frames with block cornices. The first floor windows
retain their flat stone arches with grooved voussoirs and stepped keys. Fielded
panels placed between second floor windows. Leaded casements. Original doorway
to presumed 5 bay front survives set on 3 steps: engaged Doric columns and
sections of entablature with bracketed open pediment. Panelled reveals, 6
panel door, semi-circular fanlight. Short sections of C18 style railings are
swept out to scrolled wrought supports.
