C1885 and treated as a single composition of great variety in its motifs and,
even more so, its skyline. Brick with some sham timber framing; tiled roof
with decorative ridge tiles. The entrances with, above the door, 4 centred
arches in which 5 light windows with Gothic tracery and, above that, an ogee
shaped panel of lush foliage. On the left a bay window, on the right a canted
bay window, both rising through 2 storeys and battlemented. Ground and first
floor windows mainly sashes. Some have cut brick panels above or beneath them
and others have shields and foliage in their heads. On the extreme left a
corner tourelle at first and second floor level; on the extreme right a square
turret with detailing of a Gothic type, for instance below the level of the
eaves of its pyramidal roof. Within these extremes, 3 black and white gables
of different widths and heights, another, this time rectangular, turret with
detailing of a Gothic type, a tall free standing chimney stack and a polygonal
erection housing a window which has its long axis parallel with the facade of
the house.
