1861 by E Holmes. A solid Victorian church in a simple decorated style enlivened
by the banded effect created by the use of 2 tones of sandstone. Low aisles,
buttressed transepts, clerestory; steep nave roof with bands of tiles in 2 tones;
lower chancel. North west tower with prominent broached spire. The clerestory
lights are groups of 3 quatrefoils set in panels. The interior has the same
striped effect in the stonework; rather squat arcade; the clerestory lights
internally are set under segmental arches.
