Includes Nos. 13 to 17 (consec) The Causeway and 1 to 9
(consec) Causeway Close. 9 houses, now 18 flats. 1913. By
J. Lomax Simpson. Brick with stone dressings androughcast,
hipped tile roof. 2 storeys, 6 bays, and 7 bays to The
Causeway. 1st bay recessed; 2nd and 5th bays break forward,
all under gables; 3rd and 4th bays have 1st foor jettied on
braced posts; end bay recessed. Random stone quoins to
gabled bays, roughcast 1st floor to 3rd and 4th bays, brick-
coped gables. Windows have small-paned casements, those to
gable bays segmental-headed, those to 1st 2 bays with
diamond glazing. Windows of 4 lights:ground floor has window
with transom to 2nd bay and 5-light windows to 3rd and 4th
bays. Entrances have small-paned lights, that to end bay in
lean-to porch. 3 cross-axial stacks. Facade to The Causeway
similar. 3rd and 4th bays have jettied 1st floor, 2 bays
either side break forward and are gabled, with central
gable-end stacks with canted bases End bay recessed under
gable. Rear has C20 ground floor with entrances to Causeway
Close.
