Fleming's Bridge

Pedestrian bridge over River Devon. Early C17 (built for Samuel Fleming,
rector 1581-1620). Ironstone with limestone dressings. Medieval bridge
type. 2 semi-circular arches carried on 4 chamfered ribs meet at centre
cutwater. To north side retaining wall is straight, to south side the C17
circular bastion remains. Parapet rises to centre and at each end splays
sharply outwards.
