House, formerly farmhouse. Early C16 and early C17 extended and partly
encased in brick late C19 and attend C20. Coursed squared ironstone with
limestone dressings, hipped C20 ridged tile roof, brick ridge stack and one
stone lateral stack with brick flue.
L plan. 2-storey, 3-window range.
Main front facing garden has large projecting lateral stack to left. All
walling to right of stack is of red brick. C20 door to left of centre with
overlight and Tudor-arched head.
Shallow cross wing projects to right of centre with canted bay window to
ground floor and 3-light casement window to 1st floor with hood mould.
Small 1-light window to left of door, C20 window to ground floor right and
3-light casements to 1st floor. Wing which projects to rear left is oldest
part of house and has large 5-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion window to
ground floor of left side elevation with Transom.
Interior: Large open fireplace with chamfer and Tudor-arched head. Open-
wall staircase, early C17, with vertically symmetrical turned balusters and
newel posts with finials.
A grange of Launde Abbey from early C13 - late C14.
