GLENFIELDS THE SQUARE

Two houses formerly one. Late C18 with top storey added early C19 and with C20
alteration to rear. Pale red brick with granite rubble plinth, the right gable
and rear roughcast and whitewashed. C20 interlocking tile roof, brick chimneys.
L-plan with former service wing to rear. 3 storeys, 3 bays. Moulded band course
at first floor level, raised brick string at second floor. C19 3-light wooden
casements, all with cambered heads except those to second floor. Ground floor
windows have horizontal glazing bars only; upper windows have cross glazing bars.
Between right bays, over door, are a 2-light first floor casement and blind second
floor window panel. Second floor window adjacent to left is also blind. Main
door is 6-panelled, in C19 wooden doorcase with pilasters, panelled frieze and
small cornice hood on cut scroll brackets. C20 door inserted between left bays.
2-storey rear wing with irregular openings.
