Public house. C17, part rebuilt and extended late C18-C19, with C20 alterations
and rear extensions. Centre bay retains timber framing with diagonal braces and
whitewashed brick infill. Remainder rebuilt in whitewashed brick. Roof
re-tiled C20 at original pitch. Rebuilt brick chimney shaft to right. One
storey and attic; 3 bays. Irregular barred wooden casements, the left bay with
2-light window to ground floor and single light below eaves, the right bays with
3-light lower windows and C20 2-light upper casements in flat-roofed dormers.
Ground floor window to right has hooks for shutters, and segmental head of
former narrower window. C20 door between left bays. Left gable end has C20
2-light ground floor casement, and horizontal sash to attic. Right gable has
C20 flat-roofed extension. To rear are further C20 flat-roofed extensions, and
a wing incorporating C19 outbuilding. Interior retains original principal
rafters but tie beams have been cut and collars moved. One wind-brace in right
bay. Original stack removed.
