Row of 3 cottages, now shops. Probably originally C16. Timber framed with brick
panel infill and slate roof replacing thatch. Each cottage is a single one and
a half storeyed unit. Only No 48 survives substantially intact with doorway to
left and casement window with panelled wood shutters beyond. Jowled corner posts,
rails and arched braces of timber frame visible internally. Principal rafter and
collar roof with windbraces. Front elevations of No's 44 and 46 substantially
altered, but framing and earlier fenstration visible to rear. No 44 is open to
the roof inside.
NOTE: Number 48 is now a shop although exterior remains unaltered. (Alterations
to interior confined to connection to adjacent shop).
