Town Hall. 1893. By A E Waterhouse. Ashlar. 2 storeys. Central clock tower
in 6 stages. 3-light oriel window in 2nd stage. 2 lancet windows. Clock faces
in ogee openings in 4th stage. Triple window with Gothic heads to belfry stage.
Pyramidal roof. Two 2-light windows each side of tower, with Gothic heads to first
floor but square-headed on ground floor. Quatrefoil parapet. Chimney rising from
panelled gablet in middle of each wing. Steep slate roof. Fielded panel double
doors in Gothic arch supported by triple grey granite colonnettes.
