SD 84 SE BROGDEN off GISBURN ROAD

House, at one time 3 cottages. C17. Coursed rubble, stone slate roof. Two
storeys. Plain doorway to left. Door with deep, chamfered lintel to right.
Windows on ground floor of 2, 4, 2, 4, 3, 2 and 2-lights most with chamfered
stone mullions and jambs. 2-light window to left is C18. First floor windows
are of 2, 3, 3, 3 and 4-lights. Mullions removed on extreme left and 4-light
window on right is C18. The interior has a very wide hearth with Tudor arch
of stone with concave chamfer. The doorway and 2-light window at extreme right
have transferred from the so-called Monks Resthouse, now a ruin between Admergill
Hall and Lower Admergill.
