Lodge to Claughton Hall, early C19. Sandstone ashlar with tile roof.
Single storey. Eaves oversail and have plain timber modillions. At the
north end the gable projects asa pediment to form a porch. It is carried
on 4 Tuscan columns with clasping pilasters as responds. The eaves project
on modillions around the pediment, which has a carved stone shield of arms
with crest. The door has an architrave. The east wall has 3 round-arched
recesses with keystones, joined by an impost band. The outer openings
contain sashed windows with glazing bars and round heads. Under the middle
arch there is a niche. Chimney behind ridge in line with middle arch.
