Village institute, formerly Methodist chapel, said to be 1817
(Provisional list). Squared sandstone with stone slate roof. 2 storeys,
3 bays. Windows have plain stone surrounds and modern top-hung casements
with glazing bars. The central door has a plain stone surround with a
semi-circular head having a projecting keystone and impost blocks. The
left-hand (north-west) gable has 2 sashed windows with glazing bars and
plain stone surrounds on the ground floor, and a central window which is
similar, but tripartite with square mullions. On the 1st floor is a
similar tripartite window. Adjoining to the south-east are mid-C20th
extensions of no architectural interest.
