- II
House, early C19th, intended as lodge to Wyresdale Tower, a shooting lodge
which was never completed and is now a ruin. Rubble with hipped slate
roof. Rectangular on plan, with rounded corners. Gothick style. Now
appears to be of 2 storeys but has no original lst floor windows. South
wall, facing road, has 2 windows whose plain stone surrounds have pointed
heads. They now have modern casements, with glazing bars forming Y-tracery
above. Above and between them is a blank quatrefoil with circular stone
surround. Under the eaves at the right is a modern window with plain
reveals. Central chimney. The west wall has 2 similar window surrounds,
the left-hand one blank, the right-hand one with gothick glazing. Above
and between them is a blank quatrefoil similar to the one on the south
wall. The door, between bays, has a pointed head.
