Public house, 1775. Watershot sandstone with slate roof. 2 storeys. Main
part of facade, of 2 bays, has sashed windows with glazing bars and plain
stone surrounds. Door, between bays, has a plain stone surround and a hood
on brackets. Above is a plaque inscribed: 'F.C. Smith 1775'. To the right
are 2 bays of the same build which have sashed windows with plain reveals.
The right-hand bay has a door with plain stone surround. At the left is an
added bay whose front wall is set back at an angle. On the ground floor it
has a window with plain stone surround and twin sashes with no glazing
bars and a central flat-faced mullion. On the 1st floor there is a large
sash with plain stone surround. At the right of the facade a former stable
projects forwards at right angles. Its east wall has a door at the left
with plain stone surround. To the right is a window with plain reveals. A
1st floor pitching door has a plain stone surround. Chimneys to each side
of 2 main bays and to right of facade.
