Hall house. C13, C17 (1660) and C20. Timber framed and clad in
red brick with plain tile roof. Two storeys and garret. Hall to
left with 2 projecting hips, hipped main span with gablet and
stack to rear left. Irregular fenestration of four C20 wood
casements to first floor, 2 to ground floor. Cross wing (dated
1660 on chimney breast) gabled, with projecting end stack to fore,
and one C20 wood casement. Entrance in gabled porch in C20
extension to right. Interior: hall roof with smoke-blackened
timbers, coupled rafters with low collars and no longitudinal
members, over an aisled hall, 4 of the arcade posts of which
survive, and some curved braces. Fireplace with possible
medieval tooling. C17 wing with panelling and moulded and curved
panelled ceilings. (see E.W. Parkin, Wye Local History Magazine,
