Vicarage. 1746, for Reverend Dr. Knatchbull, and James Colebrook
of Chilham Castle. Red brick with stone mouldings, wooden
cornice and plain tile roof. 2 storeys and attic on basement,
expressed externally by plinth. Bracketted eaves cornice
to hipped roof with 2 segment-headed dormers, and stacks to left
and right. 5 windows; 4 glazing bar sashes in gauged segment-
headed openings to each floor; on first floor 2 either side of
central venetian window in ashlar surrounds; on ground floor
2 windows either side of central panelled and glazed door in
stone surround, with triangular pediment on brackets. C19 service
wing to rear. Interior: Original wall-panelling, chimney-
pieces. Mid C18 staircase survives.
