This was built by the Allard family. However, in 1614, Elizabeth, the daughter
of Henry Allard married Thomas Bachelor and brought the house into the hands
of the Bachelor family, after whom it is called. A C15 timber-framed and
close-studded building with plaster infilling, the ground floor rebuilt in
red brick and grey headers. Half-hipped tiled roof. Original casement windows
on the 1st floor, 6 small and 2 large, with diamond-shaped leaded panes and
old green glass. 2 modern casement windows to ground floor.
