House. Late C18, altered in 1860s. For T. Molyneux, now judge's lodgings. Brick with stone dressings, hipped slate roof. 3 storeys with basement, 5 bays; central 3 bays break forward under pediment. Stone base, 1st floor sill band and top cornice and blocking course. Windows have wedge lintels and are sashed, with glazing bars above ground floor. 1st floor windows have blind boxes. Central bay windows have architraves, reeded friezes and cornices on slender consoles. Entrance has porch with paired Corinthian columns with rings; paired 2-panel doors. Left return has low extension with projecting 3/4 drum containing circular library, probably mid. C19. Late extensions to rear and right return. Interior is mostly plain but has 2-flight open-string dogleg stair with semicircular turn, the wrought iron balustrade incorporating the Molyneux device of a cross moline.
