House. Late C18 or early C19, with three later additions to left (that to
left end said to be c.1920). Ground floor chequered red and grey brick,
first floor hung with fishscale tiles under and to right of stack. Chequered
red and grey brick to both floors between stack and door, red and grey brick
in a Flemish-type bond to left, and mottled red brick to left end. Slate roof.
2 storeys. Galleted stone plinth to right end section. Boxed eaves. Roof
hipped to left, half-hipped to right. Brick ridge stack with cogged cornice
to left end of right section, and similar rear brick stack to left.
Irregular fenestration of 6 windows; one sixteen-pane sash to right end, one
two-light casement under stack, one sixteen-pane sash to left of stack with
similar sash to ground floor and another over door, and two twelve-pane
sashes to left end, (also with similar ground-floor sashes under). All
sashes recessed, those to ground floor with splayed rubbed brick voussoirs.
Venetian shutters to all sashes left of ridge stack. Half-glazed
double doors with narrow margin lights, in panelled recess, with sunk panels
and paterae to architrave. Painted iron porch with anthemion trelliswork
and swept leaded roof. Two-storey rear wing to right with brick ground
floor, tile-hung first floor and gabled plain tile roof. Turret to left of
it, two storeys and attic, with hipped plain tile roof and twelve-pane sash.
Shorter wing to left of turret with slate roof hipped to right and left.
Rear wing to left (or parallel rear range) to most of section left of door,
brick on ground-floor, tile-hung above, with hipped plain tile roof.
