House, now house and shop. Mid C18, probably with earlier origins to rear;
later C18 - early C19 extension to left; late C19 shop front and
alterations, unsympathetic C20 alterations. Brick in Flemish bond, colour-
washed to front. Welsh slate roof to front, pantile roof to rear. L-shaped
on plan: 2-room, central entrance-hall front with garage to left, wing to
rear right. 2 storeys with attic, 5 slightly irregular bays: originally 6
bays, now with 2 blocked windows flanking central window, and single-bay
addition to left. Plinth. Steps to C20 glazed door in late C19 - early C20
surround with plain overlight, architrave and moulded brackets carrying
corniced hood. To right, a pair of late C19-C20 plate-glass sashes in
earlier flush wooden architraves with sills beneath keyed cambered stucco
arches. To left, shopfront with pilasters, plain frieze, carved consoles
carrying cornice and hood, containing inserted C20 door and windows.
Inserted C20 garage door to far left. Moulded first-floor band. First
floor windows similar to those at ground-floor right, but shorter. Moulded
and coved plaster eaves cornice. Stone-coped gable to right. C19 rebuilt
ridge and end stacks with cogged brick cornices. Rear wing has steeply
pitched roof, brick-coped gable. Interior: ground-floor right room has
moulded plaster cornice and boxed-in spine beam with moulded plaster soffit,
fielded-panel window shutters. Not fully investigated. Empty and disused
at time of resurvey.
