House now shop. Mid C15 and later and two storeys with two parallel ranges, with gabled peg tile roof. Timber framed and rendered with front of two linked gables. Each has a single double hung sash window with glazing bars over, two C20 shop windows. Central C18 open pedimentedtimber doorcase with console brackets and central vase motif. Original six panel door and iron step handrails. Some old c.i. leaded light casements and C19 timber casements. North end wall is of red brick in English garden wall bond. C20, two storey rear extension in weatherboarding with gabled slate roof. Red brick stack in roof of later range.
The southern gabled part is a former C15 house, or public building, of three bays, with large chambers on both floors of front two bays with the rear bay perhaps partially open for the full height. Heavy and elaborately moulded frame, sharply raking main tie beam and crownpost roof with large arch braces to the purlin and in side walls. Roof was formerly hipped with a gablet at the rear. Many'high status' features. The North block is a C17 extension and is floored throughout. Cast iron mid C19 yard pump at rear.
