Office building. 1868. Sir J. Picton. Ashlar with granite
Basement.6 bays, and 5 bays to Hackins Hey. Basement
rusticated. Ground floor round-headed windows with
keystones, granite panels between. Entrance in 1st bay,
round headed with keystone and round hood on brackets,
bearing arms. Granite plinth and ground floor panels. 1st
floor has 6 windows with pilastered architraves, and
dentilled cornice under shallow balustraded balconies of the
top floor round-arched windows, which have foliated capitals
to columns. Very heavy cornice on top, with cable
moulding, projecting on round-arched machicolations, round-
headed attic lights.
