House. c.1851. By Philadelpleus Jeyes assisted by architect A. Milne. Regular
coursed lias with slate roof. Double-depth plan with courtyard adjacent to road.
Garden front: 3 storeys; 3-window range of casements with glazing bars under
flat arches. Central gabled porch has C19 ribbed double doors with moulded stone
surround. Flanking stepped gables and large central stack. 2-storey, 4-window
range to right has castellated parapet; 2-window range of slit windows to far
right. Elevation to left has stepped gable with C19 tunnel vault conservatory
attached. Elevation to road has central gate arch with pointed head flanked by
tall castellated turrets. Flanking 2 storey wings have castellated parapets.
Rear elevation formed into 3 sides of courtyard terminating with a tall square
tower with a pyramid roof. Various plaques above main entrance, flanking gateway
and on the tower have armorial detailing. Interior retains mid C19 features.
