1803-06. 2 storey L shaped, brick built villa with hipped slate roof built by the Evans family. Abuts No 2 New Road (The White House) Main elevation (north west)is at right angles to the street and overlooks garden and has two 16-pane sliding sashes at each level, central doorway with canopy and doorcase, service wings to side.
The C18 and C19 houses and schoolrooms in Darley Abbey built or acquired by various generations of the Evans family for their workers are of interest as a group to be compared with the Arkwright settlement at Cromford and the Strutt settlements at Belper and Milford.
