House. c.1820. Hammer-dressed stone, slate roof. 2 storeys. 3-bay symmetrical facade.
Quoins, cornice and blocking course. Windows with plain stone surrounds sashed with
all glazing bars. Those to 1st floor have shutters. Fine cast iron veranda of 7 arches with
slate roof across ground floor. Doorway has later stone surround. 2 stacks.
NB No. 243 (Holme House) Wakefield Road, listed on 2.12.'83 was listed in error; the
intention was to list No 241 (Holme House), Wakefield Road, Brighouse which is a
different building entirely.
