Description

CAMDEN

TQ2685NW CHURCH ROW
798-1/26/218 (North side)
11/08/50 No.5

GV II*

Terraced house. 1728. Built by R Hughes. Refronted with
weatherboard, late C18. 3 storeys 5 windows. Ground floor with
wooden rustications imitating ashlar. 1 window and architraved
doorway with patterned fanlight and panelled door. Upper
floors project as a canted bay with flush frame sashes with
exposed boxing (3 to front & 1 on each return). Dentil
cornice.
INTERIOR: not inspected but noted to retain panelling and C18
staircase with closed string, turned balusters and square
newels. The contrast of the projecting weatherboarded house
with its brick neighbours is an important element in the
picturesque composition of Church Row.
