Terrace houses. Early to mid C18 with early C19 and some c1900 alterations. Brown
brick slate roofs. No 42: 5 storeys (the top floor an arcaded rubbed brick addition of
c1900). Three windows. Mid C20, shop window. Early C19 arched entrance with spaced
voussoirs, pilastered reveals to panelled door with fanlight over. Upper floors have
flush framed sash windows with red brick dressings and flat gauged arches - c1900 iron
balconettes first floor. No 43: 4 storeys, basement and slated mansard with dormers.
Stuccoed ground floor with later shop window, but early C19 architrave arched doorway
with inset reeded doorcase with corner blocks, fanlight. Three windows to upper
floors, revealed sashes with red brick dressings and segmental arches. Stucco cornice
and blocking course over third floor. Cast iron Victorian flower guards to projecting
bracketed stucco sills. Mid C19 cast iron area railings.
