Terrace houses 1725, remodelled as one in 1853, with left half of front by Sir Charles
Barry; and remodelled again 1913-19 by Wimperis and Simpson for the Bath Club.
Stuccoed brick, slate roof. Four storeys, basement and canted dormers. Originally
4 window fronts combined as one. Chanelled ground floor and quoin pilasters. Central
2 storey canted bay to ground and first floors. Flanking Doric porches each end.
Stucco balustered balconettes to first floor windows and balustrading over porches.
Third floor sill course. Heavy bracketed main cornice and blocking course. All
windows have architrave surrounds, with cornices on first floor, eared on second floor
with sills on consoles. Interior retains a number of C18 chimney pieces and original
features and early C20 club fittings. No 43 retains original C18 staircase with carved
tread ends and turned balusters.
