Terraced office premises built over covered way. c.1904, possibly by
Frank Matcham as part of the Coliseum theatre development in St. Martin's
Lane q.v. Painted terracotta, slate roof. Eclectic Flemish Renaissance.
4 storeys. 3 windows wide with coupled windows flanking central single
window bay. Ground floor open as passageway flanked by pilasters
supporting spring of depressed arch, all granite faced. Upper floors have
mullioned-transomed casements with glazing bars of varied pattern to top
lights, framed by half octagon shafts with capitals to each storey, ornate
strapwork aprons; the windows are segmental arched on 2nd floor but flat
arched to 1st and 3rd floors, the latter have shallow ogee moulding to
lintels flanked by lesenes rising into shaped, strapwork-panelled gable
with pediment capping.
