Block of terraced houses. 1838-9 by Matthew Wyatt. Stucco. Roofs not visible.
Corner houses (Nos 22 & 5 Lower Grosvenor Place) with corner "pepperpot" turrets,
each lead domed with finial; these houses with Corinthian pilasters rising
through first and second floors; pilaster treatment also to end houses on square
and on street leading into square from north. 3 storeys, attic and basement.
Each house 2 windows wide except turreted corner houses and No 25 (1 tripartite
window wide). Doorways and windows square headed; sashes; panelled doors. Early
Victorian shopfront to No 5 Grosvenor Place. Cast iron first floor balconies to
Nos 23 and 24; No 25 with stucco balustraded balcony. Cornice above second
floor; subsidiary cornice to attic. Cast iron area railings. Integral part of
unified layout, and matching block to Nos 13 to 18 Victoria Square (qv).
