Pair of terraced houses. c1727, altered ground floor. Stock brick and red brick
dressings, slate roofs. 3 storeys and dormered mansards, each 2 windows wide.
Ground floors have mid to late C20 shop fronts. upper floors retain flush
framed glazing bar sash windows with red brick dressings and red brick gauged
segmental arches. Parapet with coping. No 9 has stone panel and cornice at 2nd
floor level, lettered "Exchange and Bullion Office"; above and below the panel
are inserted respectively "No 9" and "1798". Cast iron fluted rainwater head
between the houses.
