LRT station. 1926 by Charles Holden.
Astylar Portland stone corner building. Two street entrances with
continual moulded lintel and canopy. Large triple window over with
glazed roundel sign and tapering mullions with spherical capitals.
Ticket hall with wall tiling and trabeated ceiling. Secondary entrance
building between Stapleton and Tooting Bec Roads in similar style.
Modern escalators.Sub-surface platforms and passages retain their
original tiled decoration and many original signs. One of several
stations on the Northern Line extension designed by Holden.
