12/92 The Mount
G.V. II
House. C18, much altered and extended 1840. Squared limestone
rubble, ashlar, stucco with ashlar quoins, dressings. Concrete
tiled roof with raised stone coped gables, 2 stone gable stacks.
L-plan, now part parallel range. 2 storey, 3 bay front, with
first floor sill band and moulded parapet. Central glazed door,
up 3 moulded steps, with overlight covered by wooden Tuscan porch
with moulded entablature and flat lead roof, flanked by single
canted 2 storey ashlar bays containing glazing bar sashes. Above
the door a single glazing bar sash with cambered ashlar lintel
with stepped and fluted keyblock. In the left handgable a
weathered stone appears to record the date of 1840. To rear a
straight joint between the C18 fabric and the later addition can
be seen.
