4/21 Gateways and walls
at the Old Hall

2 pairs of gatepiers and adjoining walls. Mid and late C18. Red
brick, some limestone ashlar. Mid C18 western rectangular ashlar
gatepiers with moulded cornices and large ball finials. Ashlar
dressed wall with quoins, runs approximately 5 metres to the
south with blocked brick garden gateway with rectangular piers
and segmental head. Late C18 brick wall runs approximately 20
metres north and east with bands of dogtooth, regularly placed
pilaster buttresses and roll moulded top. Pair of gatepiers to
east with rectangular brick piers on stepped plinths, with
moulded brick caps and ashlar ball finials.
