Farmhouse. Circa 1600 with mid Cl7 rear wing, facade of mid-to-late C18 and
early C19 alterations. Timber framed, clad in red brick in Flemish bond with
occasional grey headers. Plain tile roof. Lobby-entry plan; narrow stack bay
with one room either side and narrow bay to right end. Separately-framed rear
wing to left of 2 timber-framed bays. 2 storeys and attic. Main range roof
and facade appear to be in 2 sections but conceal frame of one period. Steeply
pitched hipped roof over left two-thirds. Left hip returns along wing with
lower ridge. Roof over right third with much lower ridge, and hip returning to
right. Dormer to right hip of left section. Multiple brick ridge stack to
centre of left section. Irregular fenestration of three 16-pane glazing bar
sashes, forming regular 3-window front to left section, with no window to right.
Ground floor windows in broader blocked openings with segmental heads.
Panelled door beneath stack under open wood porch which has 4-centred arched head to front and flat hood with modillioned cornice. Rear left return wing: Mid C17. Timber framed, brick clad, with C19 and C20 windows and C20 door.
Rear right return wing: C19, brick,in Flemish bond. 2-storey addition to left end
of front elevation: C20, brick, with leaded lean-to roof, one bay replacing lean-to.
Interior:exposed, chamfer-stopped beams and joists. Large square panels (2 per
storey) with tension braces to rear wall of main range. Clasped purlin roof to left wing.
