Barn incorporating stable and barn-oast or maltings, now
workshop and farmhouse. Early C18. Chequered red and grey
brick. Plain tile roof. 2 storeys on slightly proud stone
plinth. Elevation divided into 7 bays by 2-storey brick
panels breaking forwards, flush with plinth; whole of central
bay, plain panel to flanking bays, and broad bifurcated panel
towards each end. Shaped gable end to south, rendered coping
to north. 2 corrugated asbestos patches towards ridge to second
and third bay from left. 2 eaves dormers to right of centre.
Small 2-light casement to right bifurcated panel. Blocked ventilation
slits throughout. Boarded first floor door to left bifurcated
panel. Stable door to ground floor of left end bay. Boarded door
to base of left plain panel. Low blocked opening to base of right
plain panel. Blocked doorway to right end bay with semi-circular
head. Central single-storey double doors, weatherboarded above,
under full-height 3-centred arch with brick voussoirs and proud
brick keystone. Interior: only partly inspected. Stable to
ground floor of left end bay. Slatted floor and lathed ceiling
with circular vents to second and third bays from left. Farmhouse
to right half of building. Forms east side of open courtyard.
