House. C16, built in 2 storeys. Late C18 or early C19 facade. Timber
framed. Ground floor weatherboarded, first floor tile-hung with
diagonal stripes of darker and lighter tiles. Plain tile roof. 2
parallel, storeyed, timber-framed ranges, of similar date, each built
at right-angles to road, linked by narrow stack bay. Left (north)
range 3 timber-framed bays, right (south) range 2 timber-framed bays.
Stack bay flush with west ends of the 2 ranges, and with rear (east)
gable end of south range. West (front) elevation: 2 storeys on rendered
plinth. Right (south) range jettied to front, jetty returning along
right side on plain dragon post, and extending across stack bay to left.
Jetty with slightly higher bressumer to left (north) range. Roof of
left range gabled to front, hipped to rear, with slightly higher eaves
and lower ridge than infill section. Roof of right range hipped to
front and rear with eaves level continued across infill section. Roof
of infill section higher to left of stack than to right. Filleted red
and grey brick stack towards centre, in narrow gap between ranges.
Irregular fenestration of two 2-light casements, one to each range.
Ribbed door under stack. Interior: exposed framing. Evidence for stair
position in north-east corner of right (south) range. Gunstock-jowled
posts to first floor of same range, with short braces to tie-beams. Plain
crown-post with foot braces to left range. Shutter grooves throughout
house. Combed plaster to first floor of left range.
