Church. C12, C13, C14, porch of early C17. Flint with brick dressings to porch
flint and stone mixture with stone dressings to nave; flint with stone dressings
to chancel; plain tile roof. Nave with north aisle and chancel, porch to south.
C17 gabled porch to centre of nave with double studded door to 2-centred brick
archway with brick hood mould. Ornamental barge boards to gable. 3-light stone
Perpendicular window to left with hood mould. 3-light stone Perpendicular window
to right of centre with hood mould. 2-light C19 window with hood mould to right.
Chancel to right with blocked Romanesque doorway to left, 3 lancets to right.
3-light window of Perpendicular tracery to right return. Rear: 3 lancets to
chancel. 3-light stone Perpendicualr window to left return of aisle. Lancet to
right hand return of aisle. C19 bellcote to left return. Interior: Romanesque
chancel windows with splays with jamb shafts with waterleaf or volute capitals.
Transitional chancel arch. Transitional arcade of 2 arches to north aisle. C14
curved principal roof with curved and cusped wind braces to aisle. History:
Formerly a chapel of North Stoke and under the patronage of the Abbey of Bec in
Normandy.
