GV II

School and schoolhouse, now house. Mid C19. Random rubble and dressed stone, triple Roman tile roof, coped verges,
skylight, 3 off-ridge rubble stacks. Irregular frontage, Domestic Revival. One storey and attic, 2:1 bays, that to
right with 3 tall grouped lancets in a slightly projecting wing under a gable, each lancet divided at first floor level
by a C20 rubble inset, casements with horizontal glazing bars. Left 2 bays with paired sash windows with horizontal
glazing bars, central stone dividing mullion to each pair, painted arch heads. Narrow gabled half-dormer to left of
roof, narrow 6-pane sash window with a pointed head. Two door openings; that to left in a chamfered stone surround with
a pointed-arch head, 4-panelled door, top 2 panels glazed, projecting pent roofed hood on decorative wooden brackets;
door to right in a slightly projecting stone porch, door opening in a chamfered stone surround with a pointed-arch
head, 4-panelled door, top 2 panels glazed. Primarily included for group value with Church of St John the Baptist
(qv).
