Farmhouse, now dwelling, C15, ceiled C16, altered C17, extended one try west possibly C18, altered mid-late C20. Random
rubble local stone, part rendered, concrete tile roof, rebuilt tall stone stacks gable ends, west stack external,
lateral stack to left of entrance. Plan: faces south and set into hillside, open hall ceiled possbily to 2-cell and
cross passage, service end divided laterally into 2 rooms, subsequently extended one bay west. Two storeys, 3:2 bays,
all late C19 and C20 2 and 3-iight casements, ground floor end left partially masked by single storey bakehouse
addition, entrance to right of literal stack, elm boarded pentice porch, C20 glazed door. Right return 2-bays, lit both
floors of gable end, Interior: 9-panel moulded compartment ceiling to hall, chamfered lintel to lateral stack, east
wall remains of C16 fitted bench, peaked doorframe to remains of stone stair turret or north wall, later stair turret
adjoining with lancet window and early C18 dog-gate with turned balusters, probably reused woodwork. Cross passage with
such renewed stud and plan: screen, depressed 4-centred arch head ovolo moulded door frame to extension at rear, Two
depressed 4-centred arch doorframes on upper floor. Remains of jointed cruck truss roof. Unusual in that there is a
cellar under the kitchen. When originally listed the building was thatched. (VAG Report, unpublished SR0, August
1973).
