ORCHARD WYNDHAM
Giant's Cave at NGR ST 0676 3955
II
Landscape feature in the form of a ruin, set in the park of Orchard Wyndham (qv). Mid-late C18. Very large undressed
blocks of red sandstone, irregularly placed in sections of wall about 2.5 metres high. S-plan set into hillside in
wooded copse. 2 openings identified. Thought to have become more ruinous over the last 2 decades and partially obscured
by ivy at time of survey (February 1984). There is no evidence to suggest that caves were originally included. Also
known as the Blue Grotto.
