The Rectory

GV II

House, now Rectory. C18, refaced in early C19. Ham stone ashlar; Welsh slate roof between coped gables (East bay
hipped roof behind parapet with balustraded panel); stone and brick chimney stacks. 2-storeys, with attic; 4-bays, of
which East bay-4 probably later addition. Plinth, rusticated quoins, cornice, parapet: plain sash windows with single
dividing bars, doubled to bays -1 and -3, set in architraved surrounds: projecting stone porch bay-1 with Ionic columns
and full entablature, later C19 double doors with ornamental leaded glass panels: attic windows behind parapet bays -1
and -3 with segmental lead covered roofs: Bay-4 has single-storey angled bay window with pierced ornamental parapet,
string course, rusticated quoins; upper window set in keystoned architrave. interior not seen. (VAG Report,
unpublished SRO, 1972).
