Farmhouse. Late C16/early C17. Ham stone ashlar and dressings; Welsh slate roofs between coped gables (taller block),
North section hipped; 3 very tall diamond plan stone chimney stacks with ornamental caps in line on South side.
"T"-plan, of two distinct builds of close dates. 2-storey with attic, main facade of 5-bays, bays -1, -2 and -3 are
the lower slightly earlier section, with later full height buttress with offsets between bays -2 and -3: bays -4 and -5
taller and in grander style with plinth, string course and eaves course with Jacobean ornament, bay 4 gabled. Hollow
chamfer mullioned windows, 2-lights to bays 1 and 2, the ground floor windows sharing a label, bay 1 upper has repair
with ovolo mould mullion; to bay 3 a 4-light leaded window with label, above an off- centre 3-light; ovolo mould
mullioned windows to bays -4 and -5, with 5-light under string course lower bay-5, 4-light to bays -4 and -5 upper, and
3-light with label in attic gable: cambered arched doorway in flat-headed recess with incised spandrils to bay 4:
cheeks of gable doormer have small semi-circular windows divided by iron bar. Interior said to have been gutted by
fire, which would explain mostly Regency details inside, but surviving are cambered arched doorway at opposite end of
passage, with old door, leading into rear stair turret, square on plan, with solid oak treads around central pole,
shaped undersides.
