Detached cottage. Possibly C15 origins. Local lias stone colourwashed; half-hipped thatched roof; intermediate brick
chimney stacks. Single-storey with attic, 6 bays irregular fenestration. Casement windows of early pattern, mostly
3-light, rectangular leaded with some iron-framed opening lights; to bay 2 4-light and to bay 6 a 2-light; attic
windows to right of bay 2, bay 4, right of bay 5 and to bay 6, these last 2-light, all set in swept thatched dormers;
projecting porch under catslide roof to bay 3, with early boarded door in heavy frame in the main wall; further boarded
door to right of bay 6. Further leaded light casement to attic, north gable; to south-west corner a timber-framed,
timber clad building with half-hipped thatched roof, possibly incorporating early timber framing. Interiors not seen,
but reported is a through-passage plan, signs of a central open-roofed hall with jointed-cruck-framed roof and
smoke-blackened rafters, and probably C17 modifications and additions (VAG Report, SRO unpublished, June 1980).
